Suzanne Greenberg HeadshotFall has arrived and we're looking forward to Michigan's beautiful color change. Over the warm summer months, Children Trust Michigan's team has been working hard to prepare for our exciting fall programming. Here is what we are working on this fall:?


* Collaborating with FRIENDS to travel to three regions across the state and provide?the first cohort training on Community Cafe's.?
* Initiating plans for the 2024 CTM in-person conference.
* Releasing another RFP for 2024 secondary prevention programming
* Finalizing the newly designed and updated Children Trust Michigan website.
* Establishing a database to manage information about all of those who support Children Trust Michigan.

As we continue to work toward our mission statement, the Board of Directors, the CTM Team and prevention partners across 83 counties, have set a strategic vision. The vision for CTM was established with three vision priorities, Children Trust Michigan:


* Has the structure and infrastructure to maximize its ability to be an organization of impact.
* Is a recognized prevention leader in the State and nationally.
* Impacts the prevention of child abuse and neglect by strengthening families through our prevention partners.

These exciting vision priorities are underway, and we look forward to sharing more soon!

FAMILY RESOURCE CENTERS

Children Trust Michigan has established a statewide Family Resource Centers (FRC) Network of 11 FRCs. The Michigan FRC Network meets monthly to connect, collaborate, and coordinate services. The network developed a definition for what an FRC looks like in Michigan, this is also the network?s ?north star.? Michigan's Family Resource Centers are community-led, family-centered resource centers that partner with caregivers to deliver supports and services that respond to each family's individual needs and values. FRCs are places where families can connect with one another and with resources they value ? including culturally responsive supports offered within and outside each center. FRCs are committed to creating safe, nonjudgmental, welcoming environments where all families feel that they belong, feel a sense of ownership, and can see themselves reflected.

The Michigan FRC Network recently collected its first set of data that explains client experience, new and creative approaches to learning about community needs, and the challenges surrounding classism and accessibility. This includes hiring staff and volunteers that reflect the communities they serve. Data collection from FRCs began in the third quarter of FY23. This report is an examination of those submissions and includes the number of families served, services provided, gaps identified by FRCs.

The statewide network is working to support kinship families in creative ways through a partnership with Kinship Care Resource Center (KCRC). Some of the ways FRCs can support kinship families is by providing information, assistance with basic needs, training, support groups, and connection to additional services. FRCs are connecting with the KCRC Navigators within their region. The KCRC Navigators are instrumental support when the FRCs are supporting kinship families.???????? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ??



TRAINING AND EDUCATION

As we welcome fall in Michigan, we also look forward to the beginning of a new fiscal year. This year we are excited to provide our network of Prevention Partners with a variety of educational and networking opportunities that will strengthen their knowledge and expertise, ensuring that they are the prevention expert in their respective communities.

*Fall Regional Meetings *

This fall we are excited to bring back in-person regional meetings! We will be coming together in three sites throughout the state ? Marquette, Clare and Calhoun ? and have been actively planning our time together with a planning team that includes CTM staff, Prevention Partners, parents and support from FRIENDS (our national technical assistance partner). We are excited to host a Community Caf? at each meeting and look forward to facilitating meaningful and reflective conversations that will help us learn and understand more about what makes our communities stronger for children and families. Through these community conversations, we will not only hear from community voices about what matters to them, but we will also learn how to host a community caf? through experiencing one! *Training Opportunities in FY24*

Throughout this next fiscal year, we also look forward to providing the following training opportunities for our network of Prevention Partners:


* Healthy Outcomes from Positive Experiences (HOPE) [ [link removed] ]
* Introduction to HOPE Workshop
* HOPE Facilitation Training: up to 25 Prevention Partners will be given the opportunity to become HOPE Facilitators (trained to deliver the Introduction to HOPE workshop).

* *Preventing Adverse Childhood Experiences *
* MiACE Community Champion Training: up to 25 Prevention Partners will be trained to become MiACE Community Champions (prepared to give presentations in their community).
* ACE Master Trainer Cohort [ [link removed] ]: up to 25 Prevention Partners will be given the opportunity to receive training from Dr. Rob Anda and Laura Porter (and be certified to train others throughout our network).
