It’s been a chaotic few weeks in our nation’s capital, even by D.C. standards.

First, there’s the not-so-shocking dysfunction currently playing out in the House of Representatives, that has been without a majority Speaker for fourteen days and counting.

Meanwhile, an impending deadline for Congress to fund the government is just weeks away.

On top of all that? The indictments of NJ Senator Bob Menendez and NY Congressman George Santos have revealed once again that shamelessness and corruption are equal opportunity afflictions.

The amount of disarray we’ve seen come to light is a big reminder of how important it is that we elect leaders with service in mind, not their own fortunes, political or otherwise. Because that’s what America deserves.
