Hi John,

I'm sending you this email because I know you deeply care about safe drinking water – and we need your voice immediately.

We're sending a letter to the Department of Natural Resources as they work through the next step to establish groundwater standards in our state. We want to make sure they consider the costs that come with failing to take action on PFAS contamination. Please add your name to this important letter. [[link removed]]

Thank you,
Peter

Sign your name. Take action on PFAS.

Hi John,

Thanks to conservation voters like you, we passed Wisconsin’s first-ever drinking and surface water standards for PFAS last summer. Those standards led to testing across the state and widespread support for passing funding through the state budget.

But, as you know, the then Republican-controlled Natural Resources Board failed to pass a groundwater standard, leaving behind approximately one-third of Wisconsintites who rely on private wells for their drinking water.

The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has restarted the process for setting a groundwater standard, and we need your name on our letter to show support. [[link removed]]

The DNR is currently asking for feedback on an economic impact analysis associated with their new proposed rule. This next second step in a new rulemaking process has been designed by the Republican-controlled legislature to exclude the costs associated with failing to act on PFAS. Excluding these costs from the process means we are not taking into account the damages PFAS will cause to our healthcare system and expenses individuals can incur from health-related issues.

We must have our voices heard and ensure that any new groundwater standard puts people’s health first. [[link removed]]

This is an important step towards clean drinking water for all Wisconsinites. While we continue working to find a way to get PFAS funding out the door to impacted communities, we also need to ensure there’s widespread support for quickly finalizing this rule, which would create groundwater standards.

Please sign onto our letter demonstrating the urgency behind finalizing a PFAS groundwater standard. [[link removed]]

Thank you,
