Arlington County Board Declares October Domestic Violence Awareness and Prevention Month
Arlington County envisions a peaceful and respectful community – where diversity is celebrated, violence is not tolerated, and where all people are empowered to build healthy and safe relationships.
At the October 17th Arlington County Board meeting, an official proclamation was made to bring attention to the ongoing issue of domestic violence in our community, our collaborative efforts to prevent and respond to abuse, and to recognize October as Domestic Violence Awareness and Prevention Month.
In proclaiming October DVAM here in Arlington County, the County Board honored those who have lost their lives, celebrated those who survived, and encouraged everyone in our community to join our efforts to end domestic violence.
Doorways thanks the Arlington County Board, our Project PEACE partners, and everyone in our community who shares our dedication to supporting survivors, preventing violence, and creating a safer community for all.
