Trump shares article doxxing NY AG’s address, may violate gag order
In what appears to be a clear cut violation of the gag order handed down by Judge Chutkan on Monday, Trump posted an article from a deranged far-right activist that not only lobbed unfounded smears at New York Attorney General Letitia James, but included a New York City Buildings violation document and a loan modification form that listed what appears to be James’ home address in Brooklyn. Given the well-documented do-it-yourself approach to political violence that many MAGA supporters embrace, this can be seen as nothing less than an effort to directly endanger the AG's life and must be responded to accordingly.

VIDEO OF THE DAY: Fed up Fox reporter calls out McCarthy amid Speaker chaos
The utter debacle that is the Republican Party's internal chaotic struggle to select a new Speaker of the House has reached a point of such embarrassing incompetence that even the far-right propaganda network is getting tired of their shenanigans.

White supremacy is rising across America
Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation: The Nazi flag flies freely in Florida while billionaire-backed extremist groups work to erase Black history from school libraries and whitewash the horrifying history of slavery. The Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation is fighting back against Trump-inspired white supremacy across the country, but they need your help to do it. Will you chip in and do your part in the fight against white supremacy?
Man imprisoned 16 years for wrongful conviction fatally shot by Georgia deputy
The deep injustice of the American carceral system intersected with the horror of our brutal policing policies with fatal consequences for Leonard Allen Cure, a 53-year-old man who spent over 16 years in Florida prison on a wrongful conviction only to emerge to freedom and be later shot dead by a sheriff's deputy during, of all things, a traffic stop — what should be just a normal interaction but far too often escalate into violence at the hands of trigger-happy cops with little accountability for their actions.

Jim Jordan fails to win House speaker vote on first ballot, LOL
The MAGA Congressman's desperate bid for the gavel got off to a rocky start as he failed to garner enough votes during the first speaker ballot — and in fact secured fewer than House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries. Congress is expected to hold another vote on Wednesday, but barring some major shift in the votes, it seems destined to fail once again. At this point, it's anyone's guess when, if ever, this disastrous process will conclude. Regardless of who ends up as speaker, one thing is crystal clear: the Republican Party is utterly incapable of governing.
Take Action: Tell Congress to do everything they can to protect our right to vote!

Alleged Israeli airstrike on Gaza hospital kills at least 500 Palestinians
A crowded hospital in Gaza was rocked by a massive explosion that the Palestinians claim was a targeted IDF airstrike. The Israeli government — which warned the hospital and several others to evacuate in recent days — is insisting that the deadly explosion was in fact a result of a Palestinian rocket misfiring. The tragedy marks a dramatic escalation in the conflict and is already sending ripples through the region as crowds in the West Bank and neighboring Arab countries take to the streets to protest.

Former Republican gubernatorial candidate sentenced to prison on January 6th charges
Ryan Kelley, a former far-right GOP candidate in Michigan, has been sentenced to 60 days in prison for his role in the deadly January 6th insurrection after pleading guilty to entering and remaining on restricted grounds and admitting that he "rushed past U.S. Capitol police officers" and "used his hands to support another rioter who was pulling a metal bike rack onto the scaffolding." Perhaps they can support each other again when they're lifting weights in the prison yard.

Broken rail caused fatal Colorado train derailment that collapsed bridge, early findings show
A broken rail caused a train derailment that collapsed a bridge over an interstate highway in Colorado, killing a truck driver and blocking the road for days, federal authorities have concluded based on their preliminary findings. The structure was built in 1958 and its collapse is a potent reminder that we've neglected our infrastructure for far too long — and that the repairs and upgrades from President Biden's historic infrastucture bill can't come online soon enough.
Here are some of the biggest Supreme Court cases to watch this term
Still firmly controlled by a corrupt and theocratic Republican majority, the court has several crucial cases coming up in the near future that could radically reshape America. Racial gerrymandering, the Second Amendment, disability rights, crucial financial regulatory issues and more are all on the docket. Short of expanding the court, there's little that can be done to prevent the conservatives from further entrenching their ideology, but it is imperative that Democrats win in 2024 to prevent an even sharper backslide into reactionary rule.
Small business owners say they’re pressured to hire off-duty MPD cops for "security"
Some businesses in Minneapolis — like large nightclubs — are required by the city to have security, which until 2020, sometimes had to be off-duty Minneapolis police officers. The nakedly corrupt system was engineered to line the pockets of cops and also carried with it distinctly racist overtones, as it appears that Mexican business owners were often forced to comply with the ludicrous rule while white owners were exempt. Sometimes these officers made hundreds of dollars an hour, placing a profound economic burden on owners struggling to make ends meet. One of the officers who benefited from this system was Derek Chauvin, the cop who would eventually go on to murder George Floyd.
