Municipal elections are every bit as important as statewide and national elections, but too many of us don’t vote in them. In fact, only about 30% of us showed up in 2021. That is a distressing statistic. But what’s even more alarming is what we could face if we don’t vote.
Take the town of Derby, for example. The winner of its GOP mayoral primary won despite being arrested in August for his participation in the riot at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6th.
Or in Brookfield, the Republican first selectman threatened the President on Twitter, but still won the support of the local GOP and is on the ballot again this year. See for yourself below...

Extremists don’t come from out of nowhere. They start out in communities like yours and build a reputation based on obstruction and performative far-right politics that propels them to prominence.
