Last week, John James went on TV and declared, “Americans want Congress to pull their heads out of their backside."

So this week, his party lined up support behind Jim Jordan for Speaker? Yes, the same man embroiled in the Ohio State Wrestling Scandal.

John James even sent out a poll asking if people would be okay with him supporting Jordan, who’s never passed a bill in his career and has spent more time playing politics with hard-working Americans’ lives.

And when the time came to vote, James… didn’t speak up.

That’s right. At first vote, he withheld from voting for a Speaker at all until it was clear he didn't have to. He waited to see if he had to make a tough choice, and once his friends bailed him out he stayed silent until long after the decisive vote had been cast.

Newsflash, John: Congress can’t pass laws or keep the government open long-term without a Speaker.

Working Michiganders want Democrats and responsible Republicans to work together to deliver for us and actually lead.

But John James has no actual ideas – he only stands for what’s politically easy, and when the time for leadership and courage comes he’s a deer in the headlights. And we’re paying the price.
