Dear Supporter,
Gary Stewart’s lifelong passion for music and pop culture took him from part-time record store clerk to senior vice president of artists and repertoire at Rhino Entertainment (now Rhino Records), to head of catalog at iTunes, and catalog curator for Apple Music.
While at Rhino, Stewart began working with a number of progressive organizations, and created and directed a social responsibility program that resulted in the company donating more than $2 million to address the challenges of poverty and racial inequality. Gary served as a pivotal member of LAANE’s Advisory Board for seven years.
Since his passing in 2019, friends and fellow music executives—the Gary Stewart Appreciation Society—have sought to celebrate Gary’s legacy as a champion of justice. The Gary Stewart Appreciation Society is honoring a dear friend, and is passing the torch to the next generation of changemakers who have been inspired by Gary’s life and legacy.
RSVP by Friday, November 3 to join us and celebrate Gary Stewart’s legacy and look towards the future of social justice action and philanthropy in the music industry.
