[1]U.S. Senator Chris Murphy
If your inbox is like ours, you may have felt overwhelmed recently by emails asking you to chip in before a “mid-month deadline.”
Chris gets it. It’s exhausting, and hard to know what’s true with emails like this. That’s why he made a promise when he launched his reelection to do things differently. Here’s what that means:
We’re not going to make up deadlines for fake urgency or scare you into donating. That’s not what this movement is about.
And look, it’s true that fundraising across the board has been tough this year for campaigns like ours, so maybe this is a risk.
But we believe you deserve more authenticity from your leaders and more honesty in Washington. Chris wants to be part of that solution.
And just maybe, we can prove fake deadlines and sky-is-falling messages aren’t the only reason people give.
If this is true for you and you want to elect more leaders like Chris, then please consider donating any amount you can spare today. Raising money the right way isn’t easy, so it takes all of us doing our part.

Getting involved and donating to our movement to end gun violence and build progressive power in Congress is an act of hope. It’s a way to say you believe meaningful change is possible and commit to helping us make it happen.
So thank you for hearing us out.
-Team Murphy
P.S. We know people cannot donate every time we ask, and Chris doesn’t expect that. Not in the slightest. What matters is that people pitch in whatever time and resources they can, whenever they can afford it. If that’s possible for you today, then you can use this link to contribute.
