After months of planning and coalition building, Ground Game is preparing to launch our major program for 2024: a city-wide petition campaign in Dallas, Texas.

This campaign will tie together so much of what we’ve been working on: inspiring new voters through marijuana reform; addressing racial disparities in police enforcement; investing in grassroots organizing; and building momentum for candidates up and down the ballot.

I’ve been traveling up and down Interstate 35 with my fellow Ground Game organizers to lay the foundation for this massive undertaking. We’ll need to gather tens of thousands of signatures and build support among dozens of grassroots organizations.

But we know it will be worth it. A marijuana reform campaign in Dallas could keep thousands of people out of the criminal justice system and save millions in public funds. And it could motivate tens of thousands of new voters in November 2024, a critical election for races local, statewide, and national.
