In the lead-up to the 2020 election, The Epoch Times was unknown to most. But after spending millions of dollars in advertising supporting Donald Trump and echoing the ‘Big Lie’, the far-right’s latest propaganda outlet’s audience and profits have grown at an alarming rate.

Some social media platforms such as Facebook banned the group from advertising, while others such as YouTube have not. As a result, the once-fringe organization has now entered the mainstream.

This is dangerous, John. The rise of the Epoch Times and other recent right-wing networks such as Newsmax and OAN have contributed to America’s growing information crisis and threaten the future of our democracy.
