Dear Friend,

I’d like to share an alarming statistic with you: New York workers lose around $1 billion in stolen wages every year.

Wage theft occurs when employers steal workers’ tips, withhold wages, deny legally mandated meal or rest breaks, pay sub-minimum wages, or withhold overtime pay. Low-income workers, immigrant workers, and workers of color, are most susceptible to the practice.

We have fought back to empower workers and end this insidious practice. Recently, we sued the New York State Department of Labor to demand that they reopen their investigation into the stolen wages of home health aides who are forced to work 24-hour shifts for only 13 hours of pay.

I urge you to stand with us in the fight to end wage theft and empower our most vulnerable workers. Click here to add your name to support our efforts. ([link removed]) ([link removed])
