I’m checking in ahead of this afternoon’s vote on the next Speaker of the House. It’s been two weeks without a Speaker, two weeks of Republican infighting, and two weeks of Congress being paralyzed by far-right extremists.

It’s long past time we get back to doing the important work the American people sent us to Washington to do. But we’re not out of the woods just yet. House Republicans have nominated Jim Jordan for Speaker – the poster child of MAGA extremism.

From denying the 2020 election results to fanning the flames of the January 6th insurrection, Jim Jordan has done nothing but sow division, fear, and hate. Those are not the qualities fit for the Speaker’s gavel.

If this is the leader House Republicans choose, our only path forward is to vote them out. Will you pitch in before I head to the House floor this afternoon to show that we are united in our effort to flip the House and restore sanity to Congress?
