Dear Neighbor,

I hope you and your families are safe and healthy. I wanted to share a few highlights with you regarding what is currently happening in Washington and California.

Standing against terror in Israel

Following the tragic violence in Israel committed by Hamas, I joined 390 of my colleagues in introducing a bipartisan resolution expressing our support for the people of Israel and condemning the appalling acts of terrorism launched by Hamas. My thoughts continue to be with the innocent victims lost to this terrible violence.

I strongly believe Hamas must be held accountable – both for the security of Israel and the future of the Palestinian people.

Furthermore, the safety of American citizens – whether at home or abroad – remains one of my top priorities. That’s why I’ve also cosponsored a bipartisan resolution calling for the immediate release of hostages, known to include Americans, held in Gaza in violation of international humanitarian law. My team and I will continue doing everything in our power to support Californians and their loved ones impacted by these horrific events.

Lastly, there is no room for hate in these moments. We all must continue to stand against any form of Islamophobia or anti-Semitism, in Southern California and across the country.

House Speaker

At a time of crisis around the world, Congress needs a speaker. With the Republicans’ inability to elect a speaker, Congress cannot address the challenges we are facing domestically or stand with our allies around the world.

While House Republicans continue to fight with each other, House Democrats are united and ready to find a bipartisan path forward.

It is up to House Republicans to decide whether they want to continue this stalemate or abandon MAGA extremism and join Democrats to deliver for everyday Americans.  There is too much at stake.

Hydrogen Hub

Lastly, I wanted to share some great news! The California Hydrogen Hub has been selected for award negotiations by the Department of Energy!

The California Hydrogen Hub will receive up to $1.2 billion and create a blueprint for decarbonizing public transportation, heavy duty trucking, and port operations.

Additionally, it will create 220,000 good paying jobs while increasing California's leadership in clean energy and strengthening our nation’s security as a whole.

As always if you require assistance with a federal agency including issues related to passports, visas, and veterans’ benefits – please do not hesitate to call my office in Whittier at (562) 860-5050.

Sincerely,
