Advancing Access to Mental Health and Addiction Care

Fifteen years ago: President Bush signed the Parity Act ([link removed] ) into law, requiring insurers to cover mental health and addiction care the same way they would cover physical health care.

Fast forward to today: Millions of families still struggle to get insurance coverage for needed treatment due to weak enforcement and poor implementation of the law. The federal government is considering new policies to strengthen parity requirements – but we need your help to get these rules over the finish line.

How you can help: Send a comment letter now ([link removed] ) (comments are due today, October 17) to help advance parity in mental health and addiction care. If you or your loved one have faced barriers in accessing mental health or addiction care, sharing details about your experience can help show the federal government why these proposals are needed.
