Trump attacks federal judge immediately after new gag order
Judge Tanya Chutkan slapped the serially indicted blabbermouth with a gag order to stop him from constantly attacking members of the court and special counsel Jack Smith's team. So, of course, Trump immediately proceeded to attack the judge herself. [RETWEET THAT!]

VIDEO OF THE DAY: Supreme Court allows Biden administration to continue fully enforcing ghost gun regulations
Even old, broken, billionaire-bought-and-paid-for clocks are right on occasion, apparently. In a stroke of momentary and surely fleeting prudence, the conservative-dominated court unexpectedly ruled that the Biden administration does in fact have the power to regulate so-called "ghost guns," untraceable firearms that can be made at home. The regulations will now remain in effect while a nefarious legal challenge brought by firearm manufacturers plays out in the lower courts.

President Biden will visit Israel on Wednesday in high-stakes trip
The president will make an extraordinary wartime visit to Israel this week as he seeks to thread the most precarious of diplomatic needles. Biden intends to demonstrate staunch support for one of America's closest allies and its effort to eliminate Hamas while also pressing the Israeli government to ease widespread humanitarian suffering in Gaza. The dueling objectives, spelled out by Secretary of State Antony Blinken, bring with them significant risks for Biden as he works to prevent the crisis in the Middle East from widening in the region. Some experts have pointed out that the visit might also be aimed at delaying Israel's ground invasion of the Gaza Strip — a large-scale operation that would inflict a staggering loss of life on the beleaguered Palestinian civilian populace.

Scholastic school book fair company caves to right-wing bigots in ongoing book-banning crusade
Facing pressure from frothing MAGA ignoramuses, the publishing giant is facilitating the wholesale exclusion of books that feature people of color and/or LGBTQ characters. Scholastic has grouped many of these titles in a collection conspicuously called "Share Every Story, Celebrate Every Voice." School officials are then given the option to — poof! — NOT share every story or celebrate every voice by excluding the entire set of books from the book fair altogether. Scholastic has, in the words of one librarian, given schools a "bigot button" to exclude these books and mollify intolerant pressure groups. Stay tuned for The Dumbening™ coming soon to a school near you! [RETWEET THAT!]

Fox News' Jesse Watters rejects the idea of any distinction between Hamas and Palestinians
Diet Tucker Carlson™ threw his bigoted support behind a full-scale liquidation of the innocent people of the Gaza Strip by insisting there is no distinction between the TWO MILLION civilians living there and the Hamas terrorists who launched the deadly attack on Israel. Ratcheting right-wing Islamophobia to new heights, Watters said that he doesn't like when "people try to differentiate between the Palestinians and Hamas” because the civilians "believe the same thing" and apparently deserve to die.

George Santos raised NEGATIVE $16,500 in the 3rd quarter of 2023
The celebrated Hollywood stuntman and three-time world yodeling champion actually issued more refunds to disgruntled donors than new monies brought in last quarter, raising burning questions about his political future — namely, will he go directly to jail without passing Go? Are sweater vests allowed in prison? And is orange, in fact, still the new black?

DOJ reaches settlement in Trump-era border separation case
The Biden administration reached a historic settlement in a major class action lawsuit brought by migrants separated from their children at the Mexican border under Trump's wildly xenophobic immigration policies. If approved by a judge, the settlement will put strict limits on when immigration officials are allowed to separate migrant minors from their parents or legal guardians. The new policy will also enable the federal government to continue its efforts to find and reunite families who were cruelly separated under the Trump administration's "zero-tolerance" policy and provide non-monetary assistance for migrants' healthcare, housing, and legal needs. May sanity prevail.
Georgia refuses to release evidence from horrific police shooting of Cop City activist
State officials are conveniently refusing to release evidence tied to the police shooting and killing of Manuel Esteban Paez Terán, also known as Tortuguita, an environmental activist who was protesting the massive $90 million police and fire department training center known as “Cop City" when they were shot FIFTY-SEVEN times by police who claim Terán fired first, prompting concern from police accountability experts who say this sets a “frightening” precedent. Uh, you think? The autopsy report released by the DeKalb County Medical Examiner concluded Teran did not have gunpowder residue on their hands. Where there's putrid smoke there's a raging fire, folks.
Justice Amy Coney Barrett expresses support for formal Supreme Court ethics code
Marking a surprising break from the lockstep refusals of her Republican brethren, theocratic Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett said Monday that it would be a good idea for the nation’s highest court to adopt a formal code of conduct, but she also claimed that the nine justices already agree that they should hold themselves to the highest ethical standards possible. "Should" being the operative word, of course. Corruption on the high court is rampant and basically institutionalized at this point. Clarence Thomas in particular has done everything short of accepting a big sack of money with a cartoon dollar sign painted on it.
Michigan man charged with making terrorism threat after anti-Palestinian post
The mainstream media continues to propagate deranged dehumanizing rhetoric about the Palestinian people, contributing directly to a dangerous wave of rising Islamophobia — as evidenced by the tragic stabbing of a 6-year-old Palestinian-American boy in Illinois over the weekend. Now, a Michigan man has been charged with making a terroristic threat against Palestinian residents of Dearborn. We all have a responsibility to stand up and denounce this hatred before it spreads even further.
