John,

I’m excited to tell you my family is growing! A new little one is due this spring. Thank you, God.

It amazes me how quickly a baby grows. We heard the heartbeat for the first time at 7 weeks. Now this little one is fully formed, jumping and moving and beautiful.

I feel all the pregnancy symptoms - nausea and fatigue - but it is still sometimes hard to believe I am carrying a whole tiny person, a precious new soul, inside of me, everywhere I go.

We took our oldest (Peter, 3.5 years old) to the last ultrasound appointment. He sat there beaming, so proud to be a big brother again.

When we explained we are having another baby to our other son, Leo, (our 22-month-old), he said, “I’m baby!” He’s still warming up to the idea of having a younger sibling. 😉

I talk about our excitement and explain Peter’s and Leo’s reactions more fully in this video:

Also - we don’t know the sex yet, but we are so excited for either!

The most important thing I will do on this earth is to raise my children in a loving family with my husband.

Today, embracing family life - made up of one man and one woman bound by marriage who have complete openness to life - is sadly not being promoted by mainstream media and culture. But think about the ripple effect through generations when one couple says “yes” to life.

As Saint Pope John Paul II put it: “As the family goes, so goes the nation and so goes the whole world in which we live.”

Wanting and seeking love for each other within a family context - despite disagreements, failures, and wounds - is the antidote to all the confusion and chaos in our culture.

How can we build a culture of life? Family.

What’s the answer to toxic feminism? Family.

How do we navigate the crisis of fatherlessness? Family.

How do we respond to the immoral pushes of extreme political agenda? Family.

The family is the place from which all individual lives are formed for the rest of their future. Think about the effect of one person on so many others… and then the gap when that person is killed before they get to make that impact on the world.

Each of us matters.

I believe we as a society are starting to see that prioritizing individualism and self-interest ultimately leads to unhappiness, despite promises otherwise.

The future is family.

Thank you for sharing in the joy of our new little one. Let’s press on in this fight for life so that every child is welcomed and loved, and the beauty of family life is embraced.
