Friends -
Yesterday morning, Donald Trump addressed the nation on last weekend's mass shootings in Texas and Ohio and made it clear to the country that solving this issue is just not a priority for him.
He blamed video games and the internet, and didn't even hint at making an effort to pass common sense legislation like universal background checks.
And despite the fact these shootings happen every single day, the president showed absolutely no urgency in addressing this crisis. If he had any, he would have demanded the Senate return to debate and vote on solutions to this epidemic.
So the urgency to act must come from us--we must make our voices heard. And that's what we're going to do, but we can't do it alone:
Can you make a $3 donation to our 72-hour Emergency Fundraising Drive? Every dollar you donate will go towards our efforts to pressure Mitch McConnell to hold a debate and vote on universal background checks in the Senate.

It will not surprise anyone to learn that Trump is not serious about this issue.
He promised immediate action on background checks in the wake of Parkland and reversed course after a "friendly meeting" with the NRA, which spent $30M to get him elected.
That's why we're taking it upon ourselves to demand action.
Thank you in advance for chipping in.
