Actions for the week of October 16, 2023

Dear Activists,

I hope everyone is connecting with their support systems and doing as well as can be with all that’s unfolding in the world. Here is our roundup of actions we can take together to help mitigate climate change.

Action 1

🙋💭📋 Take Our Survey

350Brooklyn’s Steering Committee is planning for our future and we want your input. Give us your best judgements in this quick survey. 350BK is growing and we want to grow our impact. Let us know what you think!

Action 2

🙅🏻‍♀️🦴🏫 Urge Legislators: Kick Fossil Fuels Out of Buildings

Send an email to your legislators urging them to pass a climate budget that kicks fossil fuels out of buildings. You might be skeptical of these one-click emails, but they really add up! We actually hear from legislators that they get tons of email from the gas industry (remember that whole gas stove kerfuffle?) and they need us to outweigh the opposition.

Action 3

🌊💨⚡️ Help Boost Offshore Wind with 350Brooklyn!

Write and submit comments in support of the Empire Wind offshore energy project on the Public Service Commission’s project page, using 350Brooklyn’s toolkit. Offshore wind is more efficient than onshore thanks to higher wind speeds, better consistency and lack of interference of human made obstacles.
