NextGen Gatherings Recap
The winter 2020 NextGen Gatherings focused on the transition from youth group to campus ministry. To learn more about how to handle this transition in your youth group listen to the Intentional Transitions episode of the NextGen Summit podcast. LEAP 2020 Recap
NextGen partnered with churches in the Kansas City and St. Louis areas to plan and host LEAP 2020. Almost 500 people attended between both First St. Charles UMC and Platte Woods UMC, with over 50 churches represented. Students and leaders packed 14,000 meals for rise against hunger.

NextGen Academy: Wonderfully Made
Registration is now open for April's NextGen Academy! This NextGen Academy will focus on how God created you and desires a relationship with you. We will explore how we perceive and love ourselves and others, and discuss ways to maintain healthy relationships. This event will be held at Fairview UMC in Columbia from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 25, 2020.

Puerto Rico Application Closing
The deadline for Puerto Rico Applications has been extended to March 15. The offices of Next Generation Ministries and Mission, Service and Justice are partnering to offer a mission trip opportunity to Puerto Rico. This trip will have a focus on environmentalism, housing rights, colonial history and the relationship between the U.S. and Puerto Rico. The trip will be open to high school seniors, college-age students and select adult leaders.

Youth Leadership Opportunity
If you, or a student you know, is interested in being a district youth lay member to Annual Conference 2020, please let us know! This is a great opportunity to take a leadership role in the larger church body. Local church members will accompany and support youth members. Students will participate with fellow youth in prayer, communion and discussion. Annual Conference will be in Springfield, MO from June 5-7, 2020. Email Maggie Lohmeyer,

Summit Podcasts
NextGen Summit workshops were recorded and produced into podcast episodes that can be found on our website. These podcasts are a great resource for family ministry volunteers, leaders and ministers. Currently there are only 6 episodes available, but all of the podcasts will be available by the end of March.

Why Work at Camp?
Working at camp provides individuals with valuable skills used in the workforce such as communication, leadership, creativity and collaboration. Check out this article from the American Camp Association to learn how a summer of working at camp is beneficial. If you know a young adult looking for the opportunity of a lifetime, refer them to our NextGen Internship application!
