13 Members of Congress have sponsored a resolution, and we need to pressure our elected officials Dear Email, Today, Representatives Cori Bush, Rashida Tlaib, Andre Carson, Summer Lee, and Delia Ramirez introduced a resolution calling President Biden to demand and facilitate an immediate ceasefire. AJP Action is proud to have endorsed this resolution; we believe a ceasefire is a crucial first step to halt further loss of life and suffering as Israeli government officials openly declare their intent to wreak devastation on Palestinians in Gaza.  The situation for Palestinians in Gaza right now is dire. Israel has indiscriminately dropped bombs without reprieve for six days. As of this morning, the conflict in Gaza and the West Bank has taken a devastating toll on the Palestinian population. Tragically, over 2,800 Palestinians have been killed by Israel's war crimes. In addition, at least 57 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli Occupation Forces and settlers in the West Bank. The injury count is also staggering, with nearly 11,000 Palestinians injured in Gaza and more than 1,200 in the West Bank. These statistics demonstrate the unbelievable human tragedy unfolding in front of our own eyes. An estimated 600,000 Gazans have been forcibly displaced from their homes. The denial of necessities such as food, water, electricity, fuel, and medicine has compounded the crisis, resulting in a humanitarian catastrophe of apocalyptic proportions. The world must respond swiftly and effectively to alleviate the suffering of innocent civilians caught in the crossfire. It is paramount that the US take immediate action, as Israel’s primary benefactor, to end Israel’s war crimes. Additionally, I urge you to continue to pressure The White House and Congress (daily), highlighting the gravity of the issue, and ask your friends and family to do the same.
