We are the resistance stopping Jordan’s Speaker bid

It looks like Jim Jordan spent the weekend busily bribing and lying to GOP members who were holding out voting for him to become the next Speaker of the House.

This morning, more so-called “never Jordan” spineless members of the Republican caucus announced that they would flip flop and vote for Jordan on the floor tomorrow. Even former Speaker Kevin McCarthy, who lasted less than nine months as Speaker of the ungovernable House GOP, is now saying to Fox News that he feels “very good” about Jordan winning 217 Republicans in Tuesday’s floor vote:

What is standing in Jordan’s way now that some of the more flexible House Republicans are bending themselves into pretzels to justify their turnabout on Jordan’s fitness to lead? The answer is: US! You, this team, and the people on the ground in our district. People all across the country see the threat of Jordan becoming Speaker of the House and aren’t going to accept it lying down.

Take our friend Chris Gibbs, a former GOP County Chair in Shelby County and rural Ohio farmer. Chris has been a constituent of Jordan’s for decades, and he recently came out swinging against Jim Jordan’s cynical takeover of the House GOP:

The threat that Jim Jordan poses to the entire country is massive, and real—and now more imminent than ever.
