Hello,
In this week’s edition, I discuss how the relationship between chaos and order affects what you have yet to learn. Then, Dr. Donald Hoffman, a key proponent of M.U.I. (Multimodal User Interface) theory, joins me to discuss reality, space time, and consciousness. From the archives, I look back on a conversation about patterns of human behaviors, specifically those characterized by good and evil.
Advice
Use The Unknown To Pull Yourself Forward In Faith
Imagine you cast a vision into the unknown to pull yourself forward in faith. Then the question is, where does the vision come from if it is a proper vision? The answer to that neurologically and psychologically is: It comes from the proper interplay between chaos and order.
The order is what you already know, and the chaos is what is yet to be learned. There is a meaningful conjunction of those two — “meaningful” because when those two are conjoined, you get the experience of meaning, like you do when you listen to music because it is partly predictable and partly unpredictable. A conversation that is compelling refers to what you know because you can understand it but it also refers to what you do not know because it would not otherwise be interesting.
When those are optimized — the spirit of meaning that is pulling you forward and what the spirit of meaning manifests itself in its initial phases from the union perspective — is a vision of the potential future. So the visionary experience itself is called forth.

How To Combat Hedonism With Courageous Faith
In the book of Revelation, when Christ comes back to judge everyone, he says something like, “If you were neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth.” His harshest judgment is not reserved for outright, unrepentant, committed sinners, and certainly not for people who are 100% committed to the courage of their faith, but the judgment is harshest for people who play both ends against the middle and who will not commit.

What You See And Feel Is Not Reality | Dr. Donald Hoffman | EP 387
On this episode of the podcast, I talk with Dr. Donald Hoffman about what we know as reality, why spacetime is now considered a “doomed” framework, and how consciousness can be understood as a vast probability space within which we orient ourselves.

You Should Orient Yourself Towards The Good
Shortly after a discussion I had with Sam Harris, I sat down with Ben Shapiro to talk about a wide range of topics, including a subset of human behaviors including those that are admirable (good) and not admirable (evil), all regarding the nature of truth in the moral sphere.
