Introducing Spark Birds with Orion Magazine and Audubon

Bird lovers! Join us on Wednesday, November 8 at 1 p.m. ET ([link removed]) for a very special virtual event celebrating the release of Orion Magazine’s latest anthology, Spark Birds ([link removed]), which gathers forty years of Orion’s best stories, essays, and poems about birds.

Co-edited and introduced by Jonathan Franzen, Spark Birds features owls, cranes, thrushes, finches, penguins, petrels, and buzzards—and the people who love them, including Brian Doyle, John Freeman, Elizabeth Kolbert, J. Drew Lanham, Mary Oliver, Emily Raboteau, Sandra Steingraber, and Terry Tempest Williams.

This special launch event ([link removed]) will feature Elizabeth Kolbert and Emily Raboteau in conversation with Audubon’s Vice President of Content, Jennifer Bogo, about their contributions to the anthology, the work of bird conservancy, and their own spark birds.
