Hello John,

Last week was quite the week for us and our candidates over here at the School Board Integrity Project!

In case you missed it, last week was Banned Books Week.  Both the Star Tribune and TC Jewfolk have noticed the work that we are doing to bring light to the number of extreme candidates running in these school board races across the state.

“Such national political issues are on full display in the electoral contests for three seats on the Anoka-Hennepin school board, which oversees the largest district in Minnesota. That polarization concerns local election watchers.” Star Tribune, 10/13/2023

“Schuette launched SBIP after watching the MPA help 50 of their candidates get elected statewide. She said in less than two months, they have helped train more than 60 candidates in 14 school board races, and more than 200 volunteers.” – TC Jewfolk, 10/12/2023

We are thrilled to see the attention these critical school board races are getting, but We still have a long road ahead of us.

We must ensure we are keeping school boards free of extreme members who don't have the best interest and success of our students in mind. While we are focusing on lifting the voices of candidates who are ready to lead with their values and listen to their communities, they are busy focusing on eroding the foundation of public education in Minnesota, banning books and rewriting our history, and sewing division in our communities for political gain.

Please consider contributing so we have the resources to continue to push back against these divisive candidates and elect candidates across the state who are ready to put our students first.

In solidarity and gratitude,

Kyrstin Schuette
