Here is a note from Mike: "This morning when I woke up early I thought about my life and my faith journey and where these things have led me. And then I reminded myself that I owe it all to my Maker - and I said a prayer of thanks to Him for my many blessings. He has done so much for me when I so very clearly didn't deserve His mercies or His blessings. I also thought about America, the Founding Fathers, and the men and women who have defended her over the last couple of hundred-plus years. I thought about the country I want my children and future grandchildren to grow up and raise their families in. The same USA I was lucky enough to be raised in, the one where I met you, and you met me. That they know the America I knew is my hope, my dream, and my prayer every day. I also thought about and prayed for you. I thought about how we met, how we became friends, how lucky I am that you are a part of my life, and, in the end, all that really matters in life is our faith, our family and our friends. Material things come and go, but our friendship endures and it truly means everything to me. Your friendship is the best birthday present I could ever receive, so I say thank you!
