Our government cannot function without a House of Representatives. And the House cannot function without a Speaker.
While I hope my Republican colleagues put aside their differences and elect someone to lead the House, it’s more clear than ever that the most surefire way to restore order to the House is to secure a Democratic majority in the upcoming election.
And John, there is no path to a Democratic majority if we can’t defend Georgia’s 2nd District — the most competitive House race in a critical swing state. Will you please make a contribution toward my campaign, so that we can secure the advantage we need to achieve a Democratic majority in and restore order to the People’s House?
I plan to continue working every day for my constituents in Middle and Southwest Georgia. But first we need to defeat the outside special interests who are trying to unseat me. National Republicans have been targeting our district for years.
With our government’s ability to govern at the most basic level hanging in the balance, it’s more important than ever that we ensure Democrats retake control and get back to the business of serving the people who elected us.
