The pay-to-play organization brings together some of the nation's most extreme legislators and lobbyists who work in the shadows to corrupt the legislative process. ALEC drafts “model bills” in secret and then introduces them in state legislatures across the country.

Corporations and special interest groups fund nearly all of ALEC’s operations, enabling ALEC to continue dismantling our freedoms. If a corporation sincerely holds pro-environment and pro-civil rights values, they have no business funding ALEC. Their financial support enables ALEC to continue its harmful operations, and we must demand they take a stand against the harmful policies ALEC helps create.
