During the last two weeks, we've seen two anti-LGBTQ attacks against our Presidential appointees. During a debate on the defense appropriations bill, U.S. Representative Lauren Boebert proposed reducing Assistant Secretary of Defense for Readiness Shawn Skelly's to $1 before launching a transphobic rant. She went onto say that Assistant Secretary Skelly, a more than qualified retired Navy Officer, was "playing dress up and imaginary games." [[link removed]]
And if all this wasn't bad enough, Libs Of TikTok (a notorious anti-LGBTQ+ grifter known for doxing children's events at libraries) attacked spokesperson for the Department of the Interior, Tyler Cherry [[link removed]] . Tyler's crime? Being a qualified, out and proud LGBTQ+ appointee.
Assistant Secretary Skelly and Tyler are nobly serving their government - and bigots cannot stand that they aren't just qualified to serve, but that they're out and proud.
