I never left for battle without doing THESE TWO THINGS.
1. I thanked God for all that I have and prayed that He brings me back to my family.
2. Surrendered myself to His plan
He made sure I made it home every time and continued to let me serve in his image.
This is Veteran, Tom Royals. I decided to follow in my grandfather's footsteps to serve this great country on the same day everything I stood for came under attack.
I remember it like it was yesterday. I was in my junior year math class on September 11, 2001, when a plane hit the second tower. I immediately applied to The United States Naval Academy.
Two quotes from my application letter -
I want to "earn the right to defend my country'
And that "When I die, I want to know that I have led a noble life in the service of God, country, and others.'
That's where my life began. A life dedicated to service.
Whether or not you choose to support me today is life or death for my campaign.
After graduating and receiving my wings I was quickly deployed overseas to fight in Iraq & Afghanistan.
My service does not end overseas. There is still so much to fight for. However, the Radical Left and their cronies are doing everything they can to get in the way of my mission and have even claimed that my soon-to-be congressional seat is not at risk of being lost by the Left.
This is not when I get off the warpath.
The same values I've spent my whole life trying to protect. The same values I will spend the rest of my life defending.
On the day that I die, I will have died a noble man. Not only because of my past service but for the service I will provide until that day.
I'll never let you down. I'll never surrender to anti-American values.
Now, all I need is your support to get there.
