John,

You know that something as personal as health care should be something you,
not government, choose.

Restrictive government rules prevent roughly 90% of Americans from taking
advantage of health savings accounts (HSAs) that give people control over their
healthcare spending and more choices to pick from.

Thanks to the many petitions, open letters, and phone calls AFP activists like
you are driving federal legislation that would give Americans another,
personalized option.

The ACCESS Act, sponsored by U.S. Reps. Greg Steube and Kat Cammack of
Florida, would establish pre-funded HSAs for lower-income families who are
eligible for cost reduction subsidies under Obamacare. As a result, patients
would be able to use their HSA funds to purchase medical items and services
directly, including those not covered by their insurance.

The bottom line: This bill would empower 5 million more Americans to gain
access to a wider range of medical services that are currently out of reach due
to strict government rules.

What’s more, the bill is estimated to save federal taxpayers as much as $30
billion.

And AFP activists and staff are at the heart of the fight to drive the
legislation through Congress.

As you know, advancing principled policy legislation through this current
Congress is an uphill battle. AFP is working with lawmakers to pass this key
reform or include the ACCESS Act in a larger legislative package this year.

The ACCESS Act is consistent with AFP’s Personal Option health care vision

, which calls for more health care options for all Americans.

Personal Option Policy Agenda

In 2023 alone, AFP activists helped advance 37 personal option-style victories
in the states. It’s time for national improvements now too.

Best,

Dean Clancy
