Far right MAGA extremists want one of their own, Rep. Jim Jordan, to be the next Speaker of the House. And MAGA Rep. Kevin Hern is doing his best to make chaos happen.
I'm running for Congress in Oklahoma's 1st District to stop MAGA Rep. Kevin Hern's efforts to put MAGAs in control of our government - MAGAs like Rep. Jim Jordan.
Trump wants Jordan to be the next Speaker. Why? Because Jordan is not only an election "denier" but a co-conspirator. On January 5, 2020, Jordan sent a text message to Mark Meadows suggesting Pence had constitutional authority to overturn a presidential election. And now Hern has pledged his vote to make Jordan the next Speaker.
What does this mean for our country? More chaos and dysfunction in Congress since Jordan is nowhere near gaining majority votes. This could leave the House leaderless for weeks as a government shutdown looms and wars wage in Ukraine and Israel.
Our campaign supports the Problem Solvers Caucus who want a bipartisan effort to allow the temporary speaker to bring legislation to the floor regarding funding the government and funding for Ukraine and Israel. We support Rep. Hakeen Jeffries and his call for traditional Republicans to break from extremism and work with moderate Democrats for a bipartisan solution to the vacant speakership.
But MAGAs like Hern don't want bipartisanship. That's why they fired former Speaker McCarthy when, for once, he did the right thing and worked out a bipartisan agreement with Democrats to keep our government open. Chaos is their plan.
I'm running for Congress because I want a Congress where members of both parties have the courage to work together in the best interests of America. I want to move our Country forward to a new era where Democrats and Republicans place dedication to country over dedication to party. Together, we can stop Oklahoma's top MAGA politician, Kevin Hern, from using his Congressional seat to sow chaos and dysfunction in Congress by promoting the MAGA agenda.
