Take Action to Save Horses from Soring
Take Action

Friend,

Horses need you to contact the U.S. Department of Agriculture TODAY!

Back in August, we asked you to urge the USDA to amend its Horse Protection Act regulations to protect horses from soring after they had removed a previous proposal that would do just that, and they listened! They have issued a new proposal to amend its Horse Protection Act regulations and if finalized, it would be a major step forward in protecting horses from the painful and abusive practice of “soring.”

Don’t wait to take action—you only have until October 20 to make sure your voice is heard!

Take Action

Soring is where trainers deliberately inflict pain on horses’ hooves and legs to create an artificial high-stepping show ring gait known as the “Big Lick.” They use gruesome techniques—including cutting the hooves down to the delicate tissues and jamming in hard or sharp objects to make the pain even more excruciating whenever the horse puts weight on their front legs, creating the exaggerated high-stepping gait.

This rule would finally eliminate the use of devices integral to soring and the conflict-ridden industry-run self-enforcement system.

But to make sure this rule goes into effect, the USDA needs to hear from compassionate animal advocates just like you, Friend!

Take action right now to protect horses from the atrocity that is soring!

Thank you for taking action to protect horses and all animals!

Sincerely,
