Dear Fayetteville,

I'm running for re-election as your State Representative! I would be honored to have your support.

Things in our state are tough right now and last legislative session was no exception. But even in a House where Democrats hold 18 out of the 100 seats, know that we are still fighting hard for what matters to you.
One example is the passage of my bill to help address the opioid epidemic in Arkansas. Overdose deaths have been dramatically under-reported in our state. To address this, I passed a bill that requires all suspected drug overdose deaths to be sent to the State Crime Lab for examination and report. Now, medical experts and policymakers will have more information about what is killing Arkansans, so that they can make more informed decisions about how to keep them healthy and safe.
I also fought for Arkansas mothers. I proposed an exception to Arkansas's total abortion ban if the baby has a condition that will make it impossible to survive outside the womb. And I ran a bill that would have exempted breast pumps and accessories from sales tax.

While neither became law, I was proud to fight for the women in our state who are frightened by their government's attacks on their autonomy and health. And I won't stop.
Most recently, I stood up for government transparency during the special legislative session that drastically changed our state's Freedom of Information Act. Though the changes to FOIA are substantial and dangerous, they are not nearly as far-reaching as they would have been without you. Because you got engaged and said "no," legislators from both sides of the aisle did, too.
People often ask how I stick with the job in the face of being in such a super-minority. It's true: We have so much work to do. And that's exactly why we can't stop pushing ... we have to keep going.

Representing you in Little Rock has brought me such joy. Every piece of legislation that I know will make a life better, or maybe even save one. Every conversation with a colleague about what matters to us in Fayetteville and why. Every bad bill we're able to stop. Every record of resistance we leave. It's all more gratifying and energizing than I can express.
I love Fayetteville. And I love sharing all that we value and offer with the rest of the state. I'm so grateful to have represented you these past few years and would be honored to keep building on the work I've done with you and for you.

You can support the campaign here.

Together we can make real and lasting progress,
Nicole
