Dear John,


This week, I am in Washington, D.C., joining with advocates from across the country for the 2023 IJM Advocacy Summit.

Today, we are learning more about a horrible, fast-growing form of trafficking – online sexual exploitation of children. We’ll take this knowledge with us into tomorrow’s lobby meetings on Capitol Hill, where we will urge policymakers and their staff to take action against this crime. These meetings are exactly the kind of momentum we need to create change – face-to-face, heart-to-heart dialogue with our elected officials. If you're not here with us, you can still take part in this important advocacy opportunity.

Will you take a couple minutes to lend your voice to our efforts?

Our advocacy isn’t over when the Summit concludes. In fact, it’s only the beginning. Now, more than ever, we need to regularly engage our elected officials to help protect kids online. Here are three critical ways we need your help.


1. CONTACT CONGRESS: The EARN IT Act is a bipartisan bill that would incentivize tech companies to prioritize child protection on their platforms. Let your elected officials know you want them to support it!

2. SPREAD THE WORD: Tell everyone you know – friends, family, co-workers, classmates – about the abuse facing children around the world. Anyone and everyone can make a difference, but the first step is awareness. Point them to IJM’s

Center to End Online Sexual Exploitation of Children and invite them to join the fight for justice.

3. PRAY: Tomorrow, scores of advocates from the Summit will be meeting with members of Congress and their staff. Pray for discernment, good communication, and open hearts to our message of justice. And pray for long-lasting, transformational change to come from these meetings!
