Dear Friends/Amigos,
This week I was back in Washington, D.C. defending the interests of all my constituents in the halls of Congress!
As the conflict between Israel and Hamas heats up, know that my team and I are closely monitoring the situation and will always keep you informed of the latest news we have on Americans remaining in the region.
If you or a loved one remain in Israel and cannot find a way out, feel free to call my office at (305) 668-2285, or consult the State Department's resources HERE or by calling +1 (833) 890-9595 if you are in the United States, or 03-519-7426 if you are in Israel.
The safety of my constituents and all Americans is my top priority.
As always, I invite you to connect with me on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, to get the latest from Washington and from across our district.
Sincerely/Atentamente,
María Elvira Salazar

MY BILL HONORING DIPLOMATS FOR THEIR HEROISM DURING THE HOLOCAUST IS BUILDING SERIOUS MOMENTUM IN CONGRESS!
|
|
This bill recognizes the bravery and heroism of the 60 diplomats from around the world who risked their lives to save Jews from Nazi persecution during the Holocaust.
I am excited to announce that since its introduction, my bill has secured more than 150 bipartisan cosponsors!
This legislation is crucially important in a time when Jewish people around the world continue to face terrorism and persecution of biblical proportions. By passing this bill, my colleagues and I in Congress will send the message that we will never forget, and that we will always remain vigilant.

I URGED THE BIDEN ADMINISTRATION TO REDESIGNATE TEMPORARY PROTECTED STATUS FOR NICARAGUANS LIVING IN THE U.S.!
|
This week, I joined 43 of my colleagues in Congress in a letter urging officials from the Biden Administration to redesignate Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Nicaraguans living in the United States.
The brutal Ortega-Murillo regime is responsible for some of the worst human rights violations and acts of religious persecution in history. Many Nicaraguans living in the United States came precisely to flee from Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo's Sandinista oppression. This makes redesignating TPS for those people all the more pressing.
Read the full text of the letter here, and the press release about it here.
