The race for the White House is in full swing, and voting is underway across the country. Today, people in fourteen states will take to the polls and make their voices heard, and over 1,344 delegates will be awarded. But, your vote is still to come, your voice has yet to be heard.
When you cast your ballot in the coming months, you will be driving the remaining campaigns towards the DNC Convention, closer and closer towards the nomination-- the final leg in the most important Presidential race in our nation’s history. When you vote, you will make your voice heard and let the world know who you think will make the best Commander in Chief for our country for the next four years. The person who will undo the mess Donald Trump has created, rebuild the trust of our allies across the globe, and ensure all Americans have equal rights under the law, especially those in the trans community.
No matter who wins the nomination this summer, we know that Donald Trump has got to go. The current administration is on a warpath of endless attacks against the transgender community, and we must take swift action to undo the damage he has done over the last three years. We know how much work is ahead, and that’s why we’ve put together a plan of action to ensure progress is made this election cycle. We have already worked with all of the major campaigns to educate them and their staff on the issues important to the transgender community, advising them on major LGBTQ policy platforms, making them stronger and more inclusive of trans people’s unique needs. And, during the general election, we will launch a trans voter registration drive and a trans voter mobilization drive. We have also made it a priority to engage trans voters in swing states. We are committed to ensuring that the next President of the United States keeps transgender issues at the forefront of their administration. One thing is clear, we must Transform the White House. This election is too important to sit by the sidelines. It may very well be decided by a razor thin margin. Every single vote matters.
