Growing up in a family of labor organizers and activists – including grandfather Cesar Chávez – Rodriguez got involved in rallies, community outreach, and volunteer work at an early age. This led to her volunteering for Barack Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign, which marked the beginning of Rodriguez’s groundbreaking career in presidential campaigns and administrations.
Rodriguez went on to serve in the Obama administration for his entire presidency, eventually helping to lead the White House Office of Public Engagement. This role allowed Rodriguez to direct the White House’s outreach efforts to Latinx Americans nationwide, as well as other marginalized communities – work which she continued on Joe Biden’s 2020 campaign for president.
Now, after serving in President Biden’s administration, Rodriguez is utilizing her wealth of experience to take on her biggest challenge yet – leading Joe Biden’s 2024 reelection campaign. She is the first Latina to run the campaign of an incumbent president.
