John,

Today I released a statement to the press about the White House's handling of the coronavirus outbreak. It goes without saying, global pandemics are a serious issue. We need a leader who prioritizes preparedness, responds quickly and efficiently and values the lives of American citizens.

***STATEMENT***

"It is terrifying that the White House is restricting messaging from the CDC to local health departments. Withholding important information from public health officials is a matter of National Security. Our nation's public health experts should be leading this charge. We must provide frontline responders with everything they need to keep us safe - including up-to-date, reliable information from the government, the funding necessary to treat and stop coronavirus, and affordable vaccines. It is unconscionable that this President has politicized a global pandemic at the expense of our lives with no repercussions."

The second case of coronavirus has been confirmed in New York. Please refer to the CDC website so you can take precautions to protect yourself, including identifying early signs of the virus.

In good health,

Lindsey
