As Hispanic Heritage Month comes to a close today, I’d like to take a moment to express my appreciation for supporting this campaign.

Growing up, I was constantly motivated by my parents. My father worked as an industrial mechanic, and my mother was an elementary school teacher. Despite not graduating high school themselves, they made sure all seven of their children went on to become first-generation college graduates. Their commitment to our success is what guides much of the work I do today.

This year, I became the first woman to ever lead BOLD PAC, the campaign arm of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus. As I work to represent the nation’s working class in Congress, I’m working to elect Latino progressives up and down the ballot next year.

Stronger representation in Congress means more of us tackling the ongoing climate crisis, fighting to protect our reproductive rights, and working to end gun violence. Stronger support for this campaign is what will make this possible.
