Punishment That Fits the Crime Border Patrol Agent Raul Gonzalez was killed while pursuing immigrants during a high-speed chase at the border. This is happening far too often, and it is time to bring justice to our first responders. I worked with Representative Juan Ciscomani (R-AZ) to introduce the Raul Gonzalez Officer Safety Act. Results, Not Rhetoric Earlier this year, House Republicans passed the strongest border security reform measure in decades. The Secure the Border Act provides millions of dollars for enhanced border security technology, authorizes an additional 900 miles of border wall to be constructed, and strengthens the Border Patrol workforce by providing retention bonuses.
