I strongly believe that health care is a right for everyone, not a privilege for those who can afford it. Voters in this election need to know that my opponent, Dan Lipinski, doesn’t agree.

He was the only Democrat in Illinois to vote against Obamacare and he’s continued to work with Republicans trying to tear it down -- co-sponsoring legislation as recently as last year that would take employer provided coverage away from nearly 1 million.

Now he’s running ads attacking me for wanting to expand access to health care to everyone.

This is a key issue where my opponent is wildly out of touch with our community and our party’s values -- if you’re with me, make a donation to my campaign today and make sure IL-03 has a representative that will fight for us on health care.

Right now, our health care system is putting profits before people, and I’m running for Congress to change that.

Insurance and pharmaceutical companies are making exorbitant amounts of money while preying on those who need medical care and prescription drugs to survive. People are dying in our country because they can’t afford the care they need -- that shouldn’t happen in America, period.

We can’t settle for half measures when it comes to this issue. We deserve a representative who won’t just work to pass universal health care -- but will support reducing prescription drug prices by giving our government broader authority to negotiate with drug manufacturers. We deserve a member of Congress who will fight to bring mental health services to all health care facilities, and decrease the stigma of mental health diagnoses.

Dan Lipinski stood in the way of progress under President Obama. He isn’t offering real solutions to the rising cost of health care -- and he should lose his job because of it.
