Our newborn baby kits ensure that expectant moms will have healthy deliveries and the supplies they need to care for their precious newborns. In conflict-affected countries like Syria, Yemen, and South Sudan, this can make all the difference to ensure the health of the mother and child.

Baby kits assist mothers like Suha, who was forced to flee multiple times from her home in Syria to find safety for her family.

Suha was pregnant with her youngest child when she arrived in Areesha Camp. Soon after, she found herself facing the frightening prospect of needing a C-section in the camp. With no source of income for her family, she had to borrow money to undergo the risky C-section.

Since then, Suha has suffered complications from the difficult birth — and she and her husband have struggled to provide for their newborn baby and his siblings, especially during these winter months.

"With the little one, well there are expenses in raising him, there are diapers, there’s milk. We don’t save any money for food as it all gets spent on diapers and milk." -Suha

Because of donors like you, the IRC provided Suha with a newborn baby kit, including diapers, baby clothes, shampoo, and women’s undergarments, which she said has helped tremendously.
