Dear John,
It was a frustrating week, but I’m back to keep you in the loop on how I am
fighting for our conservative values.
The last two weeks have been an unforced error, stalling our conservative
legislative agenda and damaging our credibility with voters. Hopefully, a
weekend at home will renew my colleagues’ resolve to come together on Monday,
so we can elect our Speaker and get to work on passing the remaining eight
appropriations bills before the November deadline.
.
The recent attacks on innocent Israelis, including women and children, are
heinous. This is not a border conflict; it's a battle for Israel's very
existence—a battle of good vs. evil. While some in Congress sickeningly defend
Hamas, I stand with our strong ally, Israel, as they defend themselves against
Iran-backed terrorists.
While the U.S. should continue to stand with Israel, there are actions we can
take here at home to make a difference. We all know Iran is the hidden hand
behind Hamas. America must freeze all foreign aid to the Iranian regime. Not a
single penny of American taxpayer money should be going to a government that
chants ‘death to Israel, death to America.’ We should also clamp down on Iran’s
oil exports, which have risen during Biden’s tenure despite U.S. sanctions. The
U.S. was a net exporter of oil just a few short years ago. House Republicans
passed the Lower Energy Costs Act in April to increase domestic energy
production. It’s past time for the Senate to take action on this bill because
it’s not just a question of lower prices; it’s also a matter of national
security to be energy independent.
The Biden administration, led by Kamala Harris, is once again pushing for an
assault weapons ban, and I want to be clear about where I stand. I am a staunch
defender of our Second Amendment rights. This is non-negotiable. Instead of
limiting the rights of law-abiding citizens, we should focus on tackling the
real issues behind violence and improving mental health support. Our Second
Amendment is a fundamental part of who we are as Americans. I'm here to make
sure it stays that way.
As always, please contact my office if there is anything we can help with.
Thank you for your continued support!
With gratitude,
