Team, TONIGHT is a pivotal moment in the fight for reproductive rights in Ohio and across the country.
The Ohio GOP primary Senate debate is set to take place in just a few hours, and we need your support more than ever to ensure that our state remains a stronghold for reproductive freedom.
In the race for Ohio's Senate seat, we’re up against candidates whose positions on reproductive rights are deeply troubling. Bernie Moreno, Frank LaRose, and Matt Dolan all support dangerous abortion bans that could strip away a woman's right to make choices about her own body.
Bernie Moreno has made it clear that he is "unequivocally pro-life" and supports a national abortion ban without exceptions for rape, incest, or the life of the mother. Not to mention that he called for a government shutdown, despite the significant impact a shutdown would have on Ohioans – including forcing nearly 53,000 Ohioans to either be furloughed or work without pay.
Frank LaRose also (no surprise here) supports a national abortion ban and opposes crucial exceptions for victims of rape or incest. Furthermore, he rewrote the November ballot language to confuse and trick Ohioans.
And then there’s Matt Dolan who literally celebrated the overturning of Roe v. Wade, labeling it "exciting.”On top of that, just last month Dolan was exposed for using his own PAC to funnel money to his campaign consultants, instead of supporting other Republican candidates.
If any of these three are elected, they would have a detrimental effect on our country. And they could very well be the deciding vote in the Senate to ban abortion nationwide – we cannot let this happen.
Can you pitch in anything you can afford before our last mid-month fundraising deadline before the election to help us defeat the Ohio GOP’s candidates and ensure we can protect reproductive rights across the state and the nation?
Thank you for standing with us,
Ohio Democrats
A reproductive rights initiative is on the Ohio ballot this November. Can Ohio Democrats count on you to chip in $5, $10, or whatever you can to help fuel our fight to protect reproductive rights in our state constitution? →
