Take the pledge to protect ocean wildlife.

Dear John,

Oceans are the lifeblood of our planet and cover more than 70 percent
of the Earth's surface. But human exploitation and
environmental threats-including climate change, the overharvest
of fish, plastic pollution, and chemical runoff-are altering the
balance of our delicate marine ecosystems.

Over 2,000 oceanic species are listed as endangered or threatened.

John, what is
happening to our oceans and marine wildlife is heartbreaking and
unimaginable and cannot be ignored. It's time to take action.
Show your commitment to protecting the world's oceans by taking
our pledge.

The Oceans Hub Pledge
I commit to becoming a good steward of the oceans and helping
protect marine life and ecosystems.
I pledge to:
Take out what I take in. When visiting beaches, rivers,
shorelines, lakes, and ponds, leave nothing behind but your
footprints-take trash and plastic out when you go.
Become a conscious consumer. Only purchase fish and seafood from
sustainable sources.
Recycle plastic goods and materials that can end up in our
oceans.
Be mindful when boating, swimming, or snorkeling not to disturb or
harm wildlife.
Take care near dune grasses and tidal ponds that provide habitats
for plants and animals.
Speak out. You have a voice in what happens to our planet. Share
your commitment with friends, family, and nature lovers you know.

By protecting the health of our oceans together, we can protect the
health of a global network of life.

San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance helps conserve wildlife that make
their home near or in our oceans. We partner with conservationists and
local communities to protect and save polar bears in the Arctic,
African penguins in southern Africa, and other vulnerable marine life.

John, join us by
signing the pledge. Show your commitment to saving threatened species,
as well as preserving the fragile ecosystems of our precious oceans.
