"Rep. Katie Porter on Sunday came out hard against corporate Democrats in
the first Senate campaign event since the death of Sen. Dianne Feinstein,
looking to distinguish herself from two Democratic frontrunners with
similar records...
"Porter...pitched herself as a scrappy newcomer who can fix a broken
system — drawing a contrast with her competitors, who have spent more than
20 years in Congress. She emphasized her reputation as a hardline Wall
Street antagonist...'I am the only candidate on this stage who has never
cashed those checks,' Porter said."

"Rep. Katie Porter had several reasons to celebrate when she scooped up
her first endorsement from a statewide labor group today. Members of the
National Union of Healthcare Workers, who voted on the endorsement over
the last three days...The outcome was a seal of approval for Porter’s
feisty performance at a Senate candidate forum hosted by the union on
Sunday."
