Friends —
My friend, Lateefah Simon, is running for Congress in California's 12th Congressional District.
She is a leader, an inspiration, a true visionary and she needs our help today.
Some of you already know Lateefah through her lifetime of work in California. If that's you, and you're ready to help make sure she gets to Congress where she will do amazing things – not just for our state, but for the entire country – please use this link to contribute directly to her campaign:

Otherwise, meet Lateefah Simon:
At just 19 years old, a year after giving birth to her eldest daughter, Lateefah became the Executive Director of the Young Women's Freedom Center.
Years later, in recognition of that work and her success, she became the youngest woman to receive a MacArthur "Genius" Fellowship.
Lateefah was later selected by then-San Francisco District Attorney Kamala Harris to lead the creation of "Back on Track," an anti-recidivism program for young adults with low-level offenses.
In 2020, I appointed her as a senior advisor on police reform in our state.
Her list of accomplishments and awards is long and well-deserved. But what is most important here is how proud you'll be of her in Congress... if she can get elected.
So now, after a lifetime of helping others, Lateefah needs OUR help — so she can serve once again on the national stage. So I am asking:
Can you please help Lateefah Simon's campaign for Congress in California by contributing $3 directly to her campaign today? It will all add up if we are all chipping-in.
Thank you in advance for this donation to Lateefah's campaign. It will go a long way to help her, but it means a lot to me personally, as well.
Gavin Newsom
