Governor Youngkin can call his position on abortion whatever he wants – a limit, compromise, restriction. But here’s the fact: It’s an abortion ban.
Despite his best efforts to wordplay his way out of it, his actions tell a very different story. Governor Youngkin is leaning all the way in to accomplish this singular goal of banning abortion in Virginia:
This week, Governor Youngkin’s PAC, Spirit of Virginia, launched a $1.4 million statewide ad campaign to push his anti-choice agenda. These anti-choice ads will run on broadcast media, cable, streaming services, and digital media through Election Day. And that’s not all: Governor Youngkin is also endorsing and funding the campaigns of extremist anti-abortion rights candidates.
Governor Youngkin wants to trick voters into thinking that he’s moderate, but we know better. In fact, according to a recent poll by Data for Progress,
voters in competitive Senate and House districts in Virginia do not trust Youngkin or the GOP on abortion.
