Africa & Europe
Praise God for IJM’s involvement in a recent conference organized by the Spanish Embassy and European Commission, focused on collaborative efforts to combat trafficking. During the event, an IJM team member contributed to a panel discussion on cross-border trafficking prevention. Please join us in praying as we strive to work together with partners from local police, the government, and the NGO sector to identify victims, help them get out of exploitation, support them to testify, find justice and live their lives in freedom.
Latin America
Pray for peace in Guatemala. As the country experiences sociopolitical unrest associated with a tumultuous election, please pray for the safety of families and for the return of normalcy to the country that has seen protests and the disruption of commerce and other normal activities for over a week. Please pray for the security of our staff in Guatemala and for God to bring peace to the country.
South Asia
Pray for safety for courageous journalists reporting about human trafficking. Their voices are critical in ending impunity for criminals and spreading awareness, but they often take on great personal risk to tell the truth about these violent crimes. Pray for wisdom, protection and encouragement for these brave journalists.
Asia Pacific
Praise God for the coordination between IJM Malaysia, IJM Cambodia, partner organizations and embassies. IJM Cambodia received a case referral to assist in the rescue of a Malaysian victim trapped in a scamming compound. IJM reported it to authorities and in just 24 hours, the authorities responded, went to the location and rescued the survivor. IJM then worked with a partner to find him shelter while waiting for the Malaysian Embassy to draw up his paperwork. Praise God that this survivor is now safe at home!
